How do I connect my camera to computer security?

My camera has a BNC output connection and want to install on my laptop or computer. The problem is finding the right adapters to connect up. What can I do for work. My comp. has to both VGA and USB ports. I just need to know if I need a power adapter fancy or simply an adapter that goes into series of cables.

For those who are technologically challenged like me to connect any type of material has always been problematic. I know I am not alone. So here are detailed instructions.
