World Cup 2010 Close Protection

Earlier this month two criminals caused an uproar worldwide by going on South African national television. The two criminals went on E-TV a free national TV station and claimed that they are waiting in anticipation for all the potential fans who the criminals see as target’s to arrive in South Africa.

These criminals admitted that if the police try to intervene or stop them in any way they will shoot their way out of any incident. The man who E-TV say acted as a facilitator in sourcing the criminals for the TV show has “APPARENTLY” killed himself, this only after days of him stating that he will not reveal the criminals identities. Very strange and only something you hear about in the third world.

All this does is contribute to the fact that Close Protection and Private Security is a real necessity for any tourist or fan travelling to South Africa. It is just not worth risking taking the chance and I’m sure these two criminals are not the only villains who are looking forward to all the foreign currency that will be brought into South Africa.

Close Protection 2010 World Cup

The first World Cup in Africa is going to be really different to any world cup we have seen in the past. First of all South Africa and Johannesburg in particular is the crime capital of the world. The country has an average 50+ murders a day and it is similar for rape, in some cases even young babies have been raped, it is merciless. The criminals in South Africa are waiting in anticipation for all the tourists that will be visiting the tournament during this period.

Apparently the government have tried to prevent this by employing another 40 000 policeman. This is obviously good but in a corrupt country like South Africa it is not always good. The South African Police Service are known for corruption and being involved in many of the day to day crimes themselves.

To become a policeman or woman in SA one only needs a full driving licence and to have passed matric which is he same GCSE level in the uk, to put it this way you don’t need much to join the police. No intense fitness test, no IQ level just a few simple qualifications. This is the reason why the police will struggle with all the people visiting the country.

There is also no public transport in SA as of yet and apparently there will be some form of public transport in place during the rtournament but unless the stations and surrounding area’s are well guarded they will be very dangerous.
